Roasted Green Tea (Houjicha)

Region
Kochi Niyodo River is often referred to as miraculous clear stream and is famous for its stunningly clear waters, known as Niyodo Blue. The cherry blossom season is particularly special, and the 500 year old Gourd Cherry Tree is a natural monument of Kochi Prefecture. While Tosa tea is not widely known across Japan, the region has great potential as a tea-producing area.
Tea pairing
A perfect food pairing for hojicha is mitarashi dango grilled rice dumplings with a sweet soy sauce glaze. The savory sweet coating on the chewy, lightly grilled dumplings complements the rich flavor of the hojicha beautifully.
How to enjoy
Since it is a leaf type, we recommend pairing it with meals on your days off, or adjusting the amount of tea leaves to enjoy the tea at your preferred strength.
